Robin's First Christmas

December was so much fun for all of us since it included a lot of very festive events including Mummy's birthday!

Highlights were:

A WHOLE 3 WEEKS getting to know my Janita Masi :) - She showered me with love and gifts and also tried to help mummy get me to nap, never the easiest of tasks! I talked to Masi all the time and she discovered the magic of waving fingers to make me smile.

My First Christmas Party at New River Children's Centre, thanks for the plus one Aoife!
The Christmas Elf and her friends

Here I am with Santa Claus and Mummy

The Annual Family Price Christmas dinner - the real Yuletide Festivities always start here, as the extraordinary feast put together by Kimmy and LN as her little helper. Somehow it gets better each year.....we aren't sure how it improves but it does! Next year I am going to go on the old weigh in weigh out and give Richie a run for his turkey!

Christmas Jumpers alert!

Christmas Cassatas

Please don't make me wear this cardigan again...

Mummy's Birthday -  After showering her with lovely cards and presents we went to meet Janita Masi on Charlotte Street where we indulged in some nostalgia, photos outside Carr Saunders and lunch on Charlotte Street at Tsunami...mmm.

Christmas Day! My first ever Christmas and enough presents to make sure no little elves got made redundant from Santa's factory this year! Favourite presents included my shark hat, Lion-oar and Crispy the dog along with everything else that I received which I am so lucky for!

New Year's Eve was perfect, which we spent in Salcombe where I slept well in the sea air! Uncle Chris, Auntie Amy and Mummy and Daddy had a special Baby Newmania for Aoife and me - we danced round the kitchen and said "cheers" at baby midnight (about 8pm  in the adult time zone).

Robin's Second Month - November 2011

November was full of wonderful events including Dylan's Christening, Aoife's Naming Ceremony and our first ever holiday as a family. As usual I've published a link to the photobook at the bottom of this entry. Hope you Enjoy, Robin xx

With Rose and Dylan. Wish they'd tell me what they could see!

Some "firsts" this month:

My First tube journey - the overground from Highbury & Islington to Hampstead Heath for the Art Fair - where I vomited down Daddy's thigh - making him look like he'd wet himself all afternoon!

Mind the baby gap

The First time I wore a dress - for Dylan's Christening and  to meet a lot of Mummy's school friends.

Too snoozy for photos at Dylan's Christening. Here with Nikki and Talia and Frank

The First time I met with Auntie Tess who brought with her some lovely gifts - as always, including a lovely duffel coat!

The First time I met with some of Mummy and Daddy's University Friends - Rajinder, Marni and Baby Hari, Alan & Helen and Athy & Jag.

Long lunch at the Duke of Cambridge. Here with Rajinder and baby Hari.

My First ever holiday. We went to the Cotswolds and stayed in a cottage in the Village of Asthall near Burford. Mummy and Daddy had lots of delicious lunches, including a nice one with Auntie Maggie and Uncle Graham who gave me lots of warm attention and I got to see what cows and sheep look like - and some fresh air! At the weekend I got to meet Harry and Arancha and Little Edu.

In the Cotswolds. Can't wait to be able to face outwards.

Robin's First Month

Robin's first month contained many more firsts. This was the first time she was meeting her Mummy's Family in North West London - including her Great Grandma or Ba (or "Mega-Ba") as Mummy and Daddy now call her.

Mummy, Daddy and Robin with Ba

We visited her first pub for lunch - the Duke of Cambridge on St. Peter's Street in Islington where Mummy and Daddy got to meet a bandmember of Radiohead and Mummy did her first feed in public. At the weekend - Grandaddy Rowlatt came to visit for the day and helped to finish some of the work in the Nursery. We went for a stroll to Le Peche Mignon in Highbury for some cakes and coffee. The owner of the cafe had also just had a baby boy.

On the Weekend 8th October we were given a welcome Champagne reception at Kaka's House (Mummy's Uncle)- most of the family were there, including Robin's cousin Kaya and even Rishna Massi (Auntie) was back from Dubai for a short while. We missed Janita Massi being there but Robin received plenty of fuss and attention - not to mention some lovely gifts she will treasure as she begins growing up.

We had a private photo shoot on Sunday 9th October to take advantage of Robin being so tiny and adorable. It was a long shoot and Robin was very patient with it all.

More visiters in the coming weeks - including Simon and Tina Wells who visited for supper on the 12th October and Tea and Cakes with Vern, Mark and Rose; Alina, Phil and Dylan and Nikki on the 16th - everybody wanted a cuddle from a very sleepy Robin. Daddy managed to burn a whole bag of chestnuts in his special pan. What a loser!

Simon and Robin. 4 Weeks old and already more hair!

The next weekend we visited Islington for a stroll while the weather was still fine and then went to visit some friends from NCT who were holding a welcome party for Willa - the baby daughter of Beth and Jason. Many of our friends from NCT were there with their own little treasures..Ethan, Josh, Isabelle and Julian (only 2 days old!)

NCT girls (and a few boys!)

On the 25th, Auntie Ros and Zack came to visit for lunch and she got to spend a little more time with her new cousin Zack. She's looking forward to meeting Cousin Alex and Lewis soon.

So many new faces and new places....Below is a link to a selection of photo's from her first Month.

My First Week

Robin spent the first few nights with her mummy in the Portland Hospital. Britain's weather was posting new September records for temperatures outside as we were enjoying what Maddi's parents described as "Robin's Indian Summer". Here we learnt to bathe her and change her nappy properly and had a crash course on breast feeding.

She received a handful of visitors in hospital, including her Nana and Nani, her new aunties - Vern, Alina and Kim and a few new uncles - Dan Powell and the Goad.

After being weighed and checked out of hospital the Sunday after she was born, Robin slept for the duration of the drive home so she has no idea still where she lives!

She had more visitors on her first afternoon at home - with her Daddy's Brother and Sister's family coming to visit, along with Uncle Chris and Auntie Amy - and a new friend Aoife!

By Monday Robin was settling into her new surroundings and in the evening her Nana and Nani visited to perform a Hindi ritual to have her fate written, assisted by Auntie Kim.

Getting some fuss from Daddy

By Wednesday we'd been into Islington for lunch together and done a work out in the Jungle Gym that Uncle Martin and Auntie Ros had bought for her. She discovered her own reflection as well.

Thursday 29th September - Everyone's Exhausted!

Hugs with Daddy

September Project Completion

Hi. Just a quick note to let you all know that Maddi gave birth to our first baby late last night. She's a beautiful baby girl, we've named her Robin and she weighed in at just over 7lbs.  She has her mothers' eyes and my ears!

We now have 4 members of my family with the same birthday
(28th September) - Robin, my father, my sister and my sister's daughter. What are the odds of that?!

Thank you all so much for the warm wishes over the last few months - I'm terrifically proud of Maddi and we're looking forward to introducing Robin to you all.
I've attached a few early mugshots.
Lots of love, Philip & Maddi.
